1. Who we are

2. Data we collect
We collect the following data when you use Caloq:

What we do NOT collect: precise location, contacts, browsing history, photos, microphone/camera data (other than barcode scanning), financial information beyond subscription tier.
3. How we collect data
- Directly from you — when you type in your profile, log meals, or set goals
- Via Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google
- Automatically via Firebase Analytics — app usage events, crash reports (no personally identifiable information in events)
4. How we use your data
- To provide and operate the Caloq app
- To personalise meal plans, recipe recommendations and diet filters
- To sync your data across devices (when signed in)
- To restore your Premium subscription
- To respond to your support requests
- To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymised usage analytics
We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell it to third parties, and do not share it with data brokers.
5. Data storage and security
Your account data and meal logs are stored in Google Firebase Firestore, hosted in Google Cloud data centres. Firebase is GDPR-compliant. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Recipe data and app content are stored locally on your device — no internet connection is required to browse recipes.

We do not use advertising SDKs (no AdMob, no Meta Pixel, no tracking networks).
7. Account creation is optional
You can use Caloq's core features — all 3,500+ recipes, calorie tracking, food diary, water and weight tracker — without creating an account. An account is only required to sync data across devices and rate recipes.
8. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to processing of your data
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
To delete your account and all associated data, go to Settings → Account → Delete account inside the app, or email us.
9. Children's privacy
Caloq is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
10. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and meal logs are deleted from our servers within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymised analytics data (which cannot identify you) may be retained longer.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notification or email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
12. Medical disclaimer
Caloq is a meal planning and recipe application intended for general informational and nutritional tracking purposes only. The application includes optional therapeutic diet filters (including anti-reflux, low GI, low histamine, anti-Candida, anti-inflammatory, and low FODMAP).
These filters and the recipes associated with them do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. They are provided solely for informational purposes to help users explore recipes that may align with certain dietary approaches.
Always consult a qualified physician, registered dietitian, or other licensed healthcare professional before starting any therapeutic diet, particularly if you have an existing medical condition, take medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of information provided by this application.
